The Portico Prize is run by the Portico Library in association with their Pennine Literary Partners, comprising cultural organisations across Northern England: Manchester Metropolitan University, The Leeds Library, The Athenaeum Liverpool, The Newcastle Lit & Phil, The Armitt Museum,Chester University and The Manchester Children's Book Festival. The Portico Prize also supports local and regional bookshops, currently The Chorlton Bookshop.
